Book 2 Post 1: The Wayfinders: Why Ancient Wisdom Matters in the Modern World by Wade Davis
The Wayfinders: Why Ancient Wisdom Matters in the Modern World by Wade Davis
After just starting the book and reading the first two chapters one of my favorite things about the book is the authors use of imagery and metaphors. Wade Davis uses both to describe different groups of people in such imaginative ways. Another thing Davis does that makes the book entertaining is showing the ridiculousness in the thinking of the European Colonizers.
So far my favorite section has been about the Spainards and when they first made it to the Philippines. I've always wanted to learn more about the history of the Philippines since my Mother grew up there. I especially find it interesting because my Mom is of some Spanish descent, so learning more about the Spanish influence in the Philippines has helped me feel a better connection to my Mother's heritage.
